About our Duluth concrete contractor team

We're a concrete contractor in Duluth, MN, pouring driveways, patios, steps and foundations, and we plan what's under the slab before we think about what's on top.

How I started pouring concrete in Duluth

I taught myself concrete by pouring small slabs and walks, then learned the rest on job sites before I started All Star Duluth Concrete in 2017. Today we're best known for driveways, patios, walks and steps, and the rest of our concrete work includes footings, foundations and other structural jobs. Most of our calls come from homeowners in Duluth, Superior, Hermantown, Cloquet and the cities around them, along with some small business owners who need a lot, a floor or a slab.

Pouring my own slabs taught me that concrete is hard to fix once it's in, so I care most about the parts nobody sees, like the ground under the slab and the planning before the pour. I'd rather take an extra look up front and give you a plain answer, even when that answer is to wait. I like to make a decision, explain it and get to work. I also show you how to care for new concrete through its first winter, because what happens that season shows up for years.

How we run a concrete job in Duluth

You talk to the owner, start to finish

I come out to look at every job myself and give you a clear plan while we're standing there. Then I'm on the pour with our crew, so the person who made the plan is the one making sure it happens.

The base and pour date come first

We settle the subgrade, the packed ground your slab sits on, plus the mix and the pour date before anything goes in. A nice finish can't save a slab that settles, so the base is the last place I'd cut to save money.

A written estimate you can compare

After we walk the site, I follow up with a written estimate that spells out what's included and what isn't. That way you can lay it next to other bids line by line and see where the numbers really differ.

Licensed concrete work in Duluth

Ask me anything about the work. In Duluth, a contractor pulling a permit must hold a Minnesota license, and we're licensed and fully insured, so when we're doing the work, we handle the application with the city's permit office.
